Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue from a woman’s uterus grows elsewhere in the body and on other organs, for example on the fallopian tubes, bladder, ovaries, rectum, and other places. During a menstruation this misplaced tissue (endometrial tissue) behaves like normal tissue inside the woman’s uterus and starts to bleed. Then, the blood has nowhere to go. It causes much pain and suffering, especially during menstruation. Many women are living with the disease long times without knowing their diagnosis - Endometriosis.
