A page about fasting food, healthy food, spiritual and bodily cleansing.
The main focus is here on the bodily cleansing and healthy food.
In Easter we Christians think of Jesus Christ and his salvation work that he accomplished. Through his holiness, righteousness, courage, purity, obedience, love, compassion, voluntarily suffering, his death and resurrection, mercy and forgiveness we are saved for eternity.

June 2018 - new food page!
Here is a new food page I've done. Check out and enjoy!
Many benefits of fasting
Jesus Christ fasted a lot and we as Christians should also do it. Fasting and prayer is a way to cleanse both your body and your spirit. Fasting is a way to identify yourself with Jesus's suffering. Eating healthy is essential for maintaining vital body, the temple for the Holy Spirit.
Fasting from internet, TV, music etc gives more room for our own thoughts and God in our lives. A walk outside is very refreshing. Prayer strengthens our relation with God.
Seek God's face and offer your body to Him as a living sacrifice as the Bible says. When we do this God responds.

Christian fasting is a spiritual act. The food is secondary
Christian fasting is a spiritual act of humility, obedience, self denial and seeking God's face. Health is not the main purpose. Even so, this page has the main focus on health and healthy food. But the most important food for all followers of Jesus Christ during the fasting is this food. Eat it daily. Pray daily.
Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for us
Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for us to take the punishment for our sins. He paid for our crimes and sins with his suffering and death. Jesus Christ died and arose to give us eternal life with God in paradise
Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for us and died by crucifixion. Jesus resurrected on the third day and now sits on the right hand of God the Father in heaven.
You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Whole grain, health benefits

Putting the Whole Grain Puzzle Together: Health Benefits Associated with Whole Grains—Summary of American Society for Nutrition 2010 Satellite Symposium
Summary and Conclusions
Existing evidence indicates that whole grains have a beneficial health effect; much of the evidence comes from observational studies that have demonstrated an association between whole grain intake and disease risk reduction. Evidence from intervention studies is variable. There is consistent epidemiological evidence that whole grain foods substantially lower the risk of chronic diseases such as CHD, diabetes, and cancer and also play a role in body weight management and digestive health.

Read below about the harmful anti-nutrient, phytic acid in oatmeal and other grains and learn how to reduce it, neutralize it.
overnight fermentation oatmeal phytic acid removal
Phytic Acid reduction, Soaking grains
Phytic acid is an anti-nutrient found in cereals, grains, seeds, lentils, beans and nuts etc.
The function of phytic acid is to bind minerals and nutrients to the seed / grain to ensure high levels of nutrients during the germination process when the seeds enter the soil.
Thus, when we eat and digest them not all minerals and nutrients are released to us at a maximized level. Instead a quite lot of it and are kept in the seeds until they end up in the soil.
Long-term exposure to phytic acid is bad for the body, dental health, causes mineral deficiency and poor bone health.
How to decrease, neutralize the phytic acid: Soak the seeds, the cereals in lukewarm water overnight with some acidic medium (eg yogurt, whey, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, sourdough) and/ or some phytase. This decreases, neutralizes phytic acid, increases mineral and nutrient uptake and begins the germination process, releasing the minerals.
Phytase is a substance found in cereals that have not been heated. Raw oats contain a lot of phytase. Read more about phytase below these links.

Phytase enzyme substance
The substance needed to launch the whole process of eliminating the phytic acid is called Phytase and it is destroyed upon heating. If a grain of cereals, grains or seeds have been heat-treated, or steamed (eg oatmeal you buy in a regular shop), then the phytase is destroyed, it's not enough to soak, you must also add the substance phytase enzyme from a raw source, from a cereal that has not been heated.
Buy some of this: Organic Whole Oat Groats
Grind them, crush them and put a half cup of them (freshly crushed) into your soaking porridge together with the sour medium (perhaps sourdough), in lukewarm water, at a lukewarm room temperature, not an air tight bowl, let it breathe. How long time? It felt like 9 hours was enough for me when I tried.
You don't have to rinse the oats afterwards nor change the water. To crush the oat seeds, buy a coffee grinder or use a mixer.
Soaked and cooked porridges with butter and cream is recommended rather than cornflake or breakfast cereals. (Hm.. perhaps cream and butter is outside the fasting routine? It tastes too delicious and therefore not suitable during a fasting period.)
Try to eat a varied diet. Foods rich in vitamin C, D and calcium, bone broths, raw dairy products inhibits the adverse effects of phytic acid."
Soaking time for grains, beans, lentils
Soaking time for lentils 7 hours, kidney beans 12 hours, black beans, chickpeas 24 hours (I take 16 hours).
Phytic Acid is a big cause of tooth decay
